New Creations in Christ

Spring is a marvelous time of the year! The beauty of the green grass, filled out tress with their various foliage, numerous flowers blooming in vivid colors, all accompanied by cooler days and light breezes. There is a vibrancy and newness that is exhilarating. The Creator God’s glory is so clearly evidenced in His marvelous works. His care and concern for the smallest of details, gives us a sure indication that He will take care of us (Matthew 10:29-31). He has provided for our renewal and continues to nurture us for growth and beauty (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 5::27). He makes all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

What are some of the areas that the Lord is seeking to cultivate in our lives?

  1. Fruitfulness in our witness
This includes having a clear and convincing testimony that is consistent with the gospel
we preach (a gospel that declares freedom from sin).
2 Timothy 2:19 . . .  And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

  2. Faithfulness in our worship
Whatever we value, we spend time indulging in it. Making time for God and His plan for
growing in the knowledge of Him will reap great dividends.
John 4:23–24 . . . the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for
the Father seeketh such to worship him.

  3. Fulness in our giving
The blessings of giving for ourselves is equal to if not greater than the impact it makes on
others through ministry of the church.
Acts 20:35 . . .  remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to
  give than to receive.

  4. Freeness in our service
Each one in the church has been given a gift by the Spirit of God, and there is great joy
that comes in gladly using it.
Galatians 5:13 . . . by love serve one another.

  5. Friendliness in our fellowship
There is nothing like a face to face encounter with others of like faith and practice. Seeing
a smile, receiving a reassuring look, or gaining a glance of sympathy is worthwhile.
3 John 14 . . . we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. . . . Greet the friends by name.
